Located a mere 45 km apart, Marbella and Malaga are nestled along the beautiful Costa del Sol and bathed in Mediterranean sunshine for most of the year.
In contrast to its modern beachfront promenade of super yachts and glamorous marinas, Marbella boasts a charming old town with cobblestone streets and Andaluz patios filled with vibrant flowers, allowing wedding parties to enjoy the best of both worlds.
With its international airport and bustling port, Malaga is often referred to as the ‘gateway to the Costa del Sol’. For decades it was just that, with visitors bypassing the city to head to the towns and villages along the coast. But Malaga has bounced back big time, with a revamped old town, an array of new cultural attractions, world-class restaurants and an eclectic mix of modernity and tradition.
Between both locations, there is a wide choice of beautiful wedding venues for all tastes and budgets.
Marbella of course is known for its luxurious resorts, elegant beach clubs, and manicured golf courses, making it a haven for couples seeking a glamorous and upscale wedding. Tucked away in the hills behind the city, you will find lavish villas with pools that can comfortably accommodate you and your guests for a memorable family wedding.
Malaga, on the other hand, offers a more diverse range of venues. You can opt for a romantic wedding in a historic Spanish courtyard, a chic celebration in a modern hotel, or a countryside affair in the surrounding vineyards. The city's rich history, embodied in its Moorish architecture and museums, adds an extra layer of charm to any wedding.

While getting married in Spain is a dream for many couples, there are certain requirements you need to know before you start planning.
To obtain a Spanish marriage certificate, at least one spouse must be a Spanish national or legal resident to be legally married in Spain. Some exceptions apply to registered Roman Catholics in foreign countries. If this applies to you, enquire at your regular church.
Foreigners generally choose to get legally married in their home country and take their vows in front of a marriage celebrant in Spain as part of the celebration.
Church weddings in Spain are not generally possible for non-residents. Exceptions are small chapels on privately owned estates, a beautiful and romantic way to tie the knot.
Whichever the case, we have experienced advisors and lawyers who can walk you through the process. We also rely on a group of multilingual wedding celebrants who will work with you to create your unique wedding vows.
