While we always recommend our clients have a symbolic wedding rather than a legally binding wedding in Portugal, the country is one of the most lenient in Europe should you wish to obtain a Portuguese marriage certificate. Unlike neighbouring Spain, you don’t even have to be a legal foreign resident in Portugal to ‘officially’ say ‘I do’ here.
