Dar El Jeld is one of the most popular hotels in Tunis. It is a 5-star property located within the historical medina. The décor is magnificent with beautiful archways and a courtyard with old lemon trees. Don’t miss the lovely rooftop restaurant that offers the most delicious lamb stew. The spa with a hammam and various massage treatments are exceptional.
Overnight: Tunis
Spend the day uncovering Tunis’ vibrant history. Start with a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Medina of Tunis, a maze of narrow streets filled with colourful souks and historical mosques. In this tour you will be visiting the Royal Mausoleum of Tourbet el Bey - a resting place for many rulers of the Husainid dynasty. Keep on walking towards Zitouna Mosque, the largest and oldest mosque in Tunisia (non-Muslim visitors are not allowed to step inside the prayer hall). Inside the Medina you will also visit Dar Othman, one of the most beautiful palaces in the city.
The medina is the perfect place to shop for groceries and mingle with the locals. Here there are three main areas: the cheese and meat; the fresh seafood area and the vegetable and fruit section. Don’t miss the Souk Chaouachia and the skull hats vendors!

From Tunis, you will depart on a day trip to Carthage and Sidi Bou Said to uncover some of the most incredible Roman ruins and waterfront landscapes. Upon arriving to Carthage, your guide will show you the Punic Ports and the Antonine Baths. These ruins used to be a complex built by the Phoenicians and rebuilt by the Romans: there is a Colosseum, an amphitheatre, baths, a Cathedral and a well-preserved Roman Villa.
Afterward, head to Sidi Bou Said, known for its whitewashed buildings and blue doors. Stroll through its charming streets, enjoy the views of the Mediterranean, and sip mint tea at a traditional café. You can almost imagine you are in Santorini!

On this delicious adventure, you will learn more about the gastronomy and culture of Tunisia while savouring incredible Arab, Berber, French, Italian, and Ottoman cuisine.
